Led by saxophonist/composer Tom Erickson, the Flying Dragon Orchestra (FDO) is an 18 piece modern jazz ensemble from Denver, CO. The FDO fuses traditional big band sounds with many outside influences including classical, alternative, rock, hip-hop, electronica and nu-jazz. Though the band is currently on hiatus, as Tom is currently in grad school in NJ, please look for a NY based incarnate of FDO in the very near future. The FDO released their debut CD in August of 2009!
